Common questions
Will the repair show through the paint?
Not if it is done properly. Filler needs to go on slightly proud, dry fully, then be sanded flat. Rushing the drying is what causes the patch to flash through. On a large repair you may need to paint the full wall rather than spot paint.
Do I need a plasterer instead?
If a whole wall or ceiling needs skimming, yes, and I will tell you. For holes, cracks, patches and made-good repairs, this is exactly the sort of job to call me for and it costs a fraction of a full skim.
Can you paint it afterwards?
Yes. If you have the paint I will put the repair back to colour. If not, I will leave it sanded and ready.
